8/17/08  New ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 Training September 15-21

Geographic Systems LLC will be teaching the new ESRI ArcGIS Desktop I, II, and III courses the week of September 15-21 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. 8/15/08  Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) GPS Project

Geogrpahic Systems LLC is completing a project to collect GPS point and attribute information for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure installed by Trans Tech Elecrtic LP along sections of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) toll roads. The ITS infrastructure consists of Dynamic Message Signs and Data Collection Sensors, as well as the supporting underground fiber and power cable lines.
4/14/08  Top ESRI Authorized Instructor First and Second Quarter 2008

ESRI names Miguel Garriga the top ESRI Authorized Instructor in the US based on training done during the first and second quarters of 2008. This is the fourth time in the past three years Miguel has won this distinction.

The Orlando Business Journal rates Geographic Systems LLC among Central Florida's Top 25 Hispanic-Owned Businesses in its 2008 Book of Lists.
12/7/07  Disaster Management Workshop In Anguilla

Geographic Systems LLC conducts a second round of training for the Department of Disaster Management in Anguilla. Participants include staff from the Departments of the Environment, Marine Fisheries, Planning, and Lands and Surveys. The workshop includes focused consulting and training on Disaster management and Emergency Response, GIS, Advanced Cartography, and Database Design and Development to support Department's GIS objectives. Deliverables include new and improved GIS layers, an Emergency Search and Rescue Grid, and a map of the Top 100 Critical Infrastructure Facilities.
9/21/07  GIS Training at 2007 Central Florida GIS Workshop

Geographic Systems LLC conducts pre-workshop training for the first Central Florida GIS Workshop, and donates the proceeds to the CFGIS Workshop Committee. This is the first GIS conference put on by and for GIS users in Central Florida.
7/16/07  GISCorps Cultural GIS Project

Miguel Garriga recently completed a project with URIS's GISCorps to provide remote technical assistance and mentoring to a Fulbright Scholar working on a cultural GIS project in the Hunza Valley in Northern Pakistan. For more information on this project visit the GISCorps website.
4/27/07  Miguel Garriga Rated Top ESRI ATP Instructor

ESRI names Miguel Garriga the Top Instructor in the United States for the first quarter of 2007. Miguel was previously rated the top instructor for the second quarter of 2005.
4/14/07  GIS for Disaster Management Workshop in Anguilla

Geographic Systems LLC conducted a three day training workshop for the government of Anguilla on using GIS for Disaster Management. The course focused on using GIS for Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Response, and Damage Assessment. The workshop was attended by personnel from the Disaster Management Committee, and by individuals who may serve in the National Emergency Operations Center. The course was arranged by Disaster Manager Elizabeth Klute as part of the preparations for the upcoming 2007 hurricane season.
12/10/06  Cartography Workshop for Barbados Lands and Surveys

Geographic Systems LLC conducted a training and consulting workshop on Cartography using ArcGIS for the Barbados Lands and Survey Department. The workshop covered map production techniques for Database Design for Cartography, On-Demand Mapping, and Map Series development.
10/16/06  Advanced GIS Training for Conservation in South America

Geographic Systems LLC, along with the Society for Conservation GIS, and the ESRI Conservation Program, teamed with The Nature Conservancy to coordinate advanced GIS training for employees of The Nature Conservancy and the World Wildlife Fund in South America. The training was held at the Institute for Ecological Research outside of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Members of TNC and WWF from Brazil, Ecuador, and Bolivia participated in the training.
10/5/06  Geographic Systems LLC Teams with GISi For GIS Training

Geographic Systems LLC signs an agreement with Geographic Information Services, Inc. to provide ESRI Authorized Training for GISi customers nationwide. GISi is based in Birmingham, Alabama.
9/21/06  Central Florida GIS User Group Training

Geographic Systems LLC provides proprietary Geodatabase training to city and county users from Seminole and Volusia counties in Florida. Part of the proceeds from the training are donated to the Central Florida GIS User Group towards organizing the first Central Florida GIS Workshop, to be held in September 2007.
7/21/06  Southeast Toyota Uses GIS for Analysis

Geographic Systems LLC provides Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc. with services to spatially enable their data for mapping, analysis, and decision making. Southeast Toyota is part of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., and holds the franchise for all Toyota and Lexus dealerships in 5 states of the southeastern US.
5/28/06  Geodatabase Training for Hillsborough County, Florida

Geographic Systems LLC conducts proprietary Geodatabase training for Hillsborough County Public Works Department. The project was awarded to Photo Science (prime) teamed with Geographic Systems LLC.
